Cannabis oil or CBD in Skincare

Cannabis in skincare. What a time to be alive! Here to report on the newest and hottest topics in skincare, even I was taken a little bit by surprise by this new magical ingredient you will soon find in your beauty products. As it turns out, cannabis oil or cannabidiol has a bunch of antioxidant properties and it can make a huge difference in the way your skin looks.

Most importantly, CBD does not make you high! It’s different from THC – the component in cannabis that causes people to get stoned. Cannabidiol is an entirely different thing, and research shows that it plays a big part in helping reduce anxiety, inflammation, depression, and more. Here are the main issues that CBD oil can target for your skin:

CBD oil can interact with the body in miraculous ways. Due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, it becomes a potential ally to fight acne and scars.

Acne is mostly caused by clogged pores due to excess oils on the surface of the skin. More recent studies have shown that CBD can also help control and rebalance the production of sebum for cleaner and smaller pores.

The antioxidant properties in CBD have the power to fight free radicals, skin dullness and wrinkles which can lessen the visible signs of aging. It contains vitamin A, D, E and essential fatty acids that help with skin radiance and plumpness.

Although it has plenty of beneficial properties, CBD is not a harsh ingredient so it is not only suitable for sensitive skin but can also help minimize issues related to a sensitive skin type including redness.

Which skin type can benefit more from CBD oil?

CBD works on all skin types including oily, dry and combination. The versatility of this type of oil and its products makes it a convenient and accessible product for many people. On the other hand, there’s plenty of buzz around skincare with CBD oil and I’m not entirely sure if it’s the best option for people with more serious issues. Like for example if you have mild to severe acne you should find better-suited treatments but if you get the seasonal pimple and maybe have some textural irregularities give CBD a try.
